Terms of Service

The rules for using PDFiLike, written as plainly as we could manage.

Last updated: June 2025

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using PDFiLike ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. What the Service Does

PDFiLike provides free, browser-based tools for working with PDF and related document files, including merging, splitting, compressing, converting, editing, signing, and securing PDFs. Most processing happens locally in your browser; some tools may use additional in-browser libraries for more complex formats. Details of how each specific tool works are described on that tool's own page.

3. No Account Required

You do not need to create an account to use PDFiLike's core tools. Where account-based features exist in the future, separate terms may apply to those features.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use PDFiLike to:

5. Your Files and Content

You retain all rights to any files you process using PDFiLike. Because most processing occurs locally in your browser, we generally do not receive, store, or have any ability to access the content of your files. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to process any file you upload.

6. No Warranty

PDFiLike is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. While we've built each tool to genuinely perform the function described on its page, document processing — especially across varied real-world file formats — can occasionally produce imperfect results (for example, complex page layouts in Office-format conversions, or recognition accuracy limits in OCR). We do not guarantee that any tool's output will be error-free, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose. You should always review output files before relying on them, particularly for legal, financial, or other consequential documents.

7. Tool-Specific Limitations

Some tools have documented best-effort limitations, which are disclosed on the relevant tool page:

8. Intellectual Property

The PDFiLike name, logo, and website design are the property of PDFiLike. The open-source libraries used to power our tools (pdf-lib, pdf.js, Tesseract.js, and others) remain under their own respective open-source licenses.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PDFiLike and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service — including but not limited to data loss, business interruption, or reliance on inaccurate tool output.

10. Changes to the Service

We may add, modify, or remove tools or features at any time without notice.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable law in the jurisdiction in which PDFiLike operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

13. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be sent to [email protected].
